It all starts with what they do and don’t feed their chickens. From the moment they hatch in their Organic, Animal Welfare Focused Hatchery, Bell & Evans chicks enjoy an organic diet of corn, extruded and expeller-pressed soy beans, vitamins and mineral.
In addition to the feed, they’ve also pioneered a clean and stress-free environment. This keeps chickens’ immune systems strong and eliminates the need for antibiotics.
With conventional chilling systems, chickens absorb up to 12% of their body weight in added chlorinated water. This water “weeps” out of the meat and is trapped in the “diaper” you find in most fresh chicken packaging.
